A Suitable Fly

I drew this on my homeward journey last night on the train. He‘s found that fly that fills him with hope. The first fly. The one that’s been on his mind since he woke up. His lucky fly. Not the gaudiest or the best-tied, but something indescribable. A Suitable Fly. Okay, he looks a bit like the scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz, but that’s not a bad thing. He’s obviously done too much fishing as he’s looking like a fish. But come to think of it, can you do too much fishing? I don’t think so! Black Biro on recycled sketchbook.

  1. have just discovered you via something my daughter sent me, I like your work, correction ,I like some of your work, 'specially the dinghy, clever idea using the wax.I was involved in the making of advt. as a propmaker, decidedly the wrong end, but occaisionaly fun just the same.I like your facility with a pencil, something I dont have the patience for, I tend to go straight in and hope for the best. My daughter put up a blog for me but I dont know the address, but my www.alexanderhamiltonartist.co.uk, also by my daughter may have it on as a link. I shall have to try to remember to look at this site or is that sight, again. Good luck. Alexander
